Ikkinchisida

Ikkinchisida is a grammatical form in Uzbek that means “in the second one” or “in the second part of something.” It denotes the position of an item within a sequence or set and is commonly used to refer to the second item in lists, sections, or options. The form is built from ikkinchi (second) plus the possessive suffix -si and the locative suffix -da, yielding ikkinchisida.

Morphology and variants: The base is ikkinchi; when suffixed with -si and -da, it becomes ikkinchisida, literally “in its second [one].” A related form ikkinchisidan means “from the second.” The construction behaves as a noun phrase and can modify or refer to a noun elsewhere in the sentence, depending on context.

Usage and examples: It is used in both formal and informal Uzbek to point to the second item in a set, a second part of a text, or a second option in a list.

Examples:

- Jadvalda uchta variant berilgan; ikkinchisida narx arzonroq. (The table presents three variants; in the second, the price is cheaper.)

- Birinchi bo’lim tugadi; ikkinchisida mavzu yanada chuqurlashadi. (The first section ended; in the second, the topic deepens.)

- U uch fikr taklif etdi; ikkinchisida esa yangi nuqta bor. (He offered three ideas; in the second there is a new point.)
