Ihmiskehitys

Ihmiskehitys, often translated as human development, refers to the biological and physiological changes that occur in the human body from conception to adulthood. This complex process involves a series of stages, each characterized by distinct growth patterns and transformations. Beginning with fertilization, where a sperm and egg unite, the zygote undergoes rapid cell division to form an embryo. This embryonic stage is critical for the development of major organ systems and body structures.

Following the embryonic period, the developing organism enters the fetal stage. During this phase, which lasts until birth, the fetus grows significantly in size and complexity. Organs mature, and features become more defined. Post-birth, infancy and childhood are marked by continued physical growth, including increases in height and weight, as well as the development of motor skills and cognitive abilities.

This phase involves further growth spurts and the development of secondary sexual characteristics.
