Igentätning

Igentätning is a term originating from German that translates to "re-sealing" or "resealing". It refers to the process of applying a new layer of sealant or gasket material to an existing seal. This is often done to repair leaks, improve insulation, or extend the lifespan of a sealed component. The specific application of igentätning can vary widely, from industrial machinery to household repairs.

In industrial contexts, igentätning might be used on pipes, engines, or pressure vessels where a worn-out gasket needs to be replaced or reinforced without disassembling the entire unit. This can save time and resources. For example, in the automotive industry, it could be applied to a cylinder head gasket or an oil pan gasket to prevent leaks.
