Humain

Humain is the French noun for a human being, and as an adjective it means relating to humans or to humanity. In English-language contexts, the term appears in discussions of human nature, anthropology, or translations of French terms such as droits humains (human rights).

The word derives from Latin humanus, meaning "of man," via Old French humain. It is cognate with the English word human and with other Romance-language terms.

In biology, the term refers to Homo sapiens, the only extant species of the genus Homo. Humans are distinguished by a relatively large brain, advanced cognitive abilities, complex language, and the capacity for culture and symbolic thought.

Human life is organized through diverse social structures and cultures. Humans create technologies, institutions, art, science, and systems of governance, and they continuously adapt to environments through learning and collaboration.

Ethically, the concept of the human is linked to dignity and rights. Human-rights frameworks assert equality before the law and fundamental freedoms for all people, regardless of origin, gender, or status.
