HttpCore

Httpcore is a Java library that provides a low-level HTTP client and server implementation. It is part of the Apache HttpComponents project and is designed to be a more flexible and extensible alternative to the standard Java HTTP client. Httpcore offers a component-based architecture that allows developers to customize various aspects of the HTTP communication, such as request and response interception, connection management, and protocol handling.

The library consists of two main parts: HttpCore NIO and HttpCore Asynchronous. HttpCore NIO is built on top of Java's New I/O (NIO) framework, enabling non-blocking, asynchronous I/O operations. This makes it suitable for high-performance, concurrent network applications. HttpCore Asynchronous provides a higher-level abstraction for asynchronous HTTP communication, further simplifying the development of responsive applications.

Httpcore is often used as a foundation for building higher-level HTTP client libraries, such as Apache HttpComponents' HttpAsyncClient. It is also employed in scenarios where fine-grained control over HTTP protocol details is required, such as in custom HTTP proxies, embedded web servers, or performance-critical backend services. The library emphasizes a clear separation of concerns, making it easier to integrate with other Java networking components and frameworks.
