Hoverdetectie
Hoverdetectie, also known as hover detection or hover effect, is a user interface technique that triggers a specific visual change or action when a user's cursor pointer hovers over an interactive element on a screen. This is commonly seen in web design and graphical user interfaces. When the cursor is moved over an element like a button, link, or image, and remains stationary for a brief period, the element may change its appearance. This change can include altering its color, size, displaying additional information, or revealing a hidden menu. Hoverdetectie serves to provide visual feedback to the user, indicating that an element is interactive and can be clicked or manipulated. It also enhances usability by offering previews or revealing functionality without requiring a click. The implementation typically involves CSS (Cascading Style Sheets) pseudo-classes like :hover or JavaScript event listeners. While widely used and generally beneficial, overuse or overly intrusive hover effects can sometimes be distracting or hinder accessibility for users who navigate without a mouse.
