Hovedformål
Hovedformål is a Danish term meaning the main purpose or primary objective of an organization. It appears most commonly in the founding documents of companies, associations, and foundations, such as the articles of association (vedtægter) or statutes. The hovedformål sets the lawful scope of activities the entity is authorized to undertake and thus defines the boundaries within which the board, management, and employees may operate. It also influences eligibility for licenses, taxation, and funding, particularly for nonprofit entities where the main purpose must align with charitable or public-benefit aims.
