Hn1A

Hn1A is a gene that encodes a protein also known as heparanase. The heparanase protein is an enzyme that plays a role in the breakdown of heparan sulfate, a component of the extracellular matrix and cell surfaces. This enzymatic activity is involved in various biological processes, including cell adhesion, migration, proliferation, and tissue remodeling.

In humans, the Hn1A gene is located on chromosome 4. The protein produced by Hn1A has been studied for its involvement in both normal physiological functions and pathological conditions.
