Producers may use concentration techniques such as evaporation or ultrafiltration to increase solids, followed by standard dairy processing steps like pasteurization and homogenization. Yeasts or cultures may be used for fermented dairy products, while stabilizers might be minimized or carefully chosen to preserve the dairy-dominant character of the product.

Common applications include high-dairy beverages, yogurt and yogurt drinks with elevated protein and fat content, dairy-based desserts, and certain ice creams or frozen yogurts marketed for their rich dairy profile. Some products may pursue fortified nutrition by adding calcium or vitamin D within the dairy matrix rather than as non-dairy additives.
