Headmaster

A headmaster is the senior teacher and administrative head of a school, particularly common in independent schools in the United Kingdom, the United States, and other Commonwealth countries. The term is traditionally used for the male head of a boys' school, with "headmistress" used for the female head of a girls' school. In co-educational institutions, or in modern usage, the term "head teacher" or "principal" is often preferred.

The responsibilities of a headmaster are extensive and include overseeing the academic and pastoral welfare of students, managing staff, setting the school's educational vision, and representing the school to the wider community. They are typically responsible for the day-to-day operations, curriculum development, financial management, and the overall ethos and discipline of the institution.
