Hatnuah

Hatnuah is a political party in Israel. It was founded in 2012 by Tzipi Livni, a prominent figure in Israeli politics who had previously been a member of the Kadima party and the Labor Party. Hatnuah's platform generally emphasizes a two-state solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, advocating for a negotiated peace agreement. The party also focuses on social issues and economic reforms.

In the 2013 Knesset elections, Hatnuah ran in a joint list with the Labor Party, securing six seats. Tzipi Livni served as Minister of Justice and chief negotiator in the Israeli government. Following internal disagreements and the dissolution of the 19th Knesset, Hatnuah did not run in a joint list in the 2015 elections. Instead, it joined the Zionist Union alliance with the Labor Party. The Zionist Union won 24 seats, and Livni again served as a minister.

Hatnuah has faced challenges in maintaining its electoral strength and has undergone periods of fluctuation in its political standing. The party's core ideology revolves around achieving a lasting peace through diplomacy and strengthening democratic institutions within Israel. Its policy positions often align with centrist and left-leaning viewpoints on matters of national security and social welfare.
