Haswell
Haswell refers to the codename for the fourth generation of Intel Core microprocessors, launched in the second quarter of 2013. These processors are based on the Intel microarchitecture, succeeding the Ivy Bridge generation. Haswell introduced a significant redesign focusing on improved performance per watt, making it more efficient for both desktop and mobile devices. Key improvements included enhanced integrated graphics capabilities, with the Iris Pro graphics becoming a notable feature in higher-end Haswell processors. The architecture also featured a new integrated voltage regulator, further contributing to power efficiency and enabling finer voltage control. Haswell processors utilize the LGA 1150 socket for desktop platforms and are available in various configurations, including dual-core and quad-core models, catering to a wide range of computing needs from ultrabooks to high-performance desktops. The introduction of Haswell marked a stepping stone in Intel's mobile and desktop processor evolution, prioritizing energy efficiency without compromising on processing power.
