Handelsfachwirt

A Handelsfachwirt is a vocational qualification in Germany, roughly equivalent to a Bachelor Professional in Trade and Commerce. This qualification is obtained through a further vocational training program, typically undertaken after completing an initial apprenticeship in a commercial field and gaining some professional experience. The training is offered by Chambers of Industry and Commerce (IHK) and aims to equip individuals with advanced knowledge and skills in various aspects of commercial management and business administration.

The curriculum generally covers a broad range of subjects including business management, marketing, sales, human resources, logistics, and legal aspects relevant to the trade sector. Upon successful completion of the examination, which includes written and oral components, the holder is deemed a qualified specialist capable of taking on more responsibility in management positions within trading companies.
