Halmazállapota

Halmazállapota refers to the state of matter of a substance. Matter exists in various forms, but the most common are solid, liquid, and gas. The state of matter is determined by the arrangement and movement of the particles (atoms, molecules, or ions) that make up the substance.

In the solid state, particles are tightly packed in a fixed arrangement. They vibrate in place but do not move past each other. Solids have a definite shape and volume. Examples include ice, rock, and metal.

In the liquid state, particles are still close together but are not held in fixed positions. They can move around and slide past one another, allowing liquids to flow and take the shape of their container. Liquids have a definite volume but not a definite shape. Examples include water, oil, and mercury.

In the gaseous state, particles are far apart and move randomly at high speeds. They collide with each other and the walls of their container. Gases have no definite shape or volume and will expand to fill any container they occupy. Examples include air, steam, and helium.

Transitions between these states, such as melting (solid to liquid), freezing (liquid to solid), vaporization (liquid to gas), and condensation (gas to liquid), occur when the substance gains or loses energy, typically in the form of heat. Other states of matter exist, such as plasma and Bose-Einstein condensates, but solid, liquid, and gas are the most commonly encountered on Earth. The specific halmazállapota of a substance depends on factors like temperature and pressure.
