Haftanstalten

Haftanstalten is a Scandinavian term used to denote a detention facility or prison, most commonly encountered in Swedish usage as the definite form of "haftanstalt" or in related compound names. The term broadly covers institutions where people are held in custody by the state, including facilities for pretrial detention, sentenced imprisonment and specialized secure units.
