HIDstandardi

HIDstandardi, or Human Interface Device standards, are a set of protocols developed by the USB Implementers Forum (USB-IF) to standardize the communication between computers and peripheral devices such as keyboards, mice, and game controllers. These standards ensure compatibility and interoperability across different manufacturers and platforms.

The HID standard is defined in the USB Device Class Definition for Human Interface Devices (HID). It specifies the format and protocol for exchanging data between a host (such as a computer) and a device. The standard includes definitions for various types of devices, their capabilities, and the data they can transmit.

HIDstandardi is divided into several layers:

1. Device Layer: Defines the physical and electrical characteristics of the device.

2. Report Layer: Specifies the format of the data reports sent between the device and the host.

3. Transport Layer: Defines the protocol for transmitting data over USB.

The HID standard supports a wide range of devices, including keyboards, mice, joysticks, touch screens, and biometric devices. It also includes support for composite devices, which combine multiple HID functions into a single device.
