HDinnhold is a term used in Scandinavian media industries to refer to content produced, distributed, or consumed in high-definition formats. The term encompasses video, audio, and related media presented at high resolutions such as 720p and 1080p, and is often used to distinguish HD material from standard-definition content.

Historically, HD content emerged with digital broadcasting and optical media, supported by standards such as ATSC, DVB, and MPEG-2/AVC. In practice, HDinnhold is delivered through broadcast channels, streaming services, Blu-ray discs, and downloadable files. While 4K and Ultra HD are increasingly common, many contexts still categorize 4K separately, with HD typically referring to up to 1080p.

Production and quality: HDinnhold quality depends on resolution, frame rate, color depth, and compression. Common formats include H.264/AVC and H.265/HEVC; typical bitrates vary widely by channel and platform. Audio is frequently 5.1 or 7.1 surround sound accompanying HD video.

Market and rights: Content labeled as HD may be subject to copyright, licensing, and digital rights management. Consumer devices and networks must support sufficient bandwidth and display capability to experience HD as intended. The term is primarily a practical, marketing, and technical descriptor rather than a formal standard.
