HCFC-122a, also known as dichlorotrifluoroethane, is a hydrochlorofluorocarbon (HCFC) with the chemical formula C2HCl2F3. It is a colorless liquid with a mild odor. HCFC-122a has been used as a refrigerant, a blowing agent for foams, and a cleaning solvent. However, like other HCFCs, it is an ozone-depleting substance and a greenhouse gas, albeit with a lower ozone depletion potential (ODP) and global warming potential (GWP) compared to older chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs).
