Hóállapot refers to the condition or state of snow. This term is used in meteorology, climatology, and fields related to snow management, such as avalanche forecasting and winter sports. Snow depth is a primary indicator of hóállapot, measuring the vertical accumulation of snow on the ground. Density, expressed as mass per unit volume, is crucial for understanding snowpack stability and how much water it can hold. Snow temperature influences its phase (solid or liquid) and its ability to bond with underlying layers or melt.
