Gázfényforrások

Gázfényforrások, also known as gas discharge lamps, are a type of electric light that produces light by passing an electric current through an ionized gas, or plasma. The gas inside the lamp is typically a noble gas, such as neon, argon, or xenon, or a mixture of gases. When the electric current passes through the gas, it excites the atoms, causing them to emit photons, which are particles of light.

There are several types of gázfényforrások, including fluorescent lamps, high-intensity discharge (HID) lamps, and neon lamps. Fluorescent lamps use a coating of phosphor on the inside of the glass tube to convert the ultraviolet light produced by the mercury vapor discharge into visible light. HID lamps, such as mercury vapor lamps, sodium vapor lamps, and metal halide lamps, produce a more intense light and are often used for street lighting and in stadiums. Neon lamps produce a characteristic red glow and are commonly used for decorative lighting and signage.

The color of the light produced by a gázfényforrás depends on the type of gas used and any coatings or additives present. For example, neon gas produces a red light, while argon gas can produce blue or green light depending on the pressure. The efficiency of gázfényforrások varies, with fluorescent lamps generally being more efficient than incandescent lamps. However, some HID lamps can be very efficient and produce a high lumen output for their power consumption. These light sources are widely used in various applications due to their energy efficiency and diverse lighting characteristics.
