Gyújtórendszerei

Gyújtórendszerei refers to ignition systems in Hungarian. These systems are crucial for the operation of internal combustion engines, initiating the combustion process of the fuel-air mixture within the cylinders. The primary function of an ignition system is to generate a high-voltage electrical spark at precisely the right moment during the engine's cycle. This spark ignites the compressed fuel and air, causing a controlled explosion that drives the engine's pistons.

Historically, early ignition systems relied on a magneto, a device that generates its own electrical current through a rotating magnet. Over time, these evolved into battery-and-coil systems. In these, a battery provides the initial low-voltage power, which is then stepped up to a high voltage by an ignition coil. The timing of the spark is controlled by a mechanical contact breaker (points) or, more commonly in modern vehicles, by electronic control units (ECUs) that utilize sensors to determine the optimal ignition timing.

Modern ignition systems are typically electronic, often referred to as distributorless ignition systems (DIS) or coil-on-plug (COP) systems. DIS systems eliminate the need for a distributor by using multiple ignition coils, each serving one or two cylinders, and triggering them electronically. COP systems go a step further, placing an individual ignition coil directly on top of each spark plug, minimizing energy loss and improving ignition precision. These advanced systems offer greater reliability, improved fuel efficiency, and reduced emissions compared to older technologies.
