Gymnasticus
Gymnasticus is a genus of extinct cartilaginous fish belonging to the order Orectolobiformes, commonly known as carpet sharks. The most well-known species, Gymnasticus primus, is known from fossilized remains found primarily in the Eocene-aged deposits of Europe, particularly in what is now Germany. These fossils typically consist of isolated teeth and, less commonly, vertebrae.
