Guntakal

Guntakal is a municipality in the Anantapur district of the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh. It is located in the northwestern part of the district and is a significant railway junction. The town's name is believed to derive from the Telugu words "Gunta" meaning pond and "Kal" meaning stone, possibly referencing a stone-lined pond that once existed in the area.
