Gumpert, later known as Apollo Automobil, was a German automobile manufacturer founded by Roland Gumpert. The company was established in 2004 and its primary focus was the production of high-performance sports cars. Gumpert gained significant recognition for its flagship model, the Gumpert Apollo, a track-focused supercar known for its extreme performance and distinctive design. The Apollo featured a powerful twin-turbocharged V8 engine and was built with lightweight materials to achieve exceptional acceleration and handling capabilities.

The company's philosophy centered on creating vehicles that prioritized driving dynamics and track performance, often drawing inspiration from motorsport. While the Gumpert Apollo was the most well-known product, the company also explored variations and potential future models. However, Gumpert faced financial challenges and underwent ownership changes. In 2016, the company was acquired by Ideal Team Venture, a Hong Kong-based investment group, and subsequently rebranded as Apollo Automobil. Under the new ownership, the focus shifted to developing new hypercars, building upon the legacy of the original Gumpert Apollo.
