Guigal

Guigal, officially E. Guigal, is a French winery and négociant based in Ampuis in the Northern Rhône Valley. The house was founded in 1946 by Etienne Guigal and grew from a small operation into one of the region’s leading producers, with a wide range of wines from Côte-Rôtie, Condrieu, Hermitage, Saint-Joseph and Crozes-Hermitage.

Guigal's Côte-Rôtie wines are among its best known. The estate produces three single-vineyard Côte-Rôtie wines—La Mouline, La Landonne and La Turque—which have achieved iconic status and command very high prices. In addition to these prestige cuvées, Guigal makes more accessible wines from village and vineyard sites across the Northern Rhône.

Beyond red wines, Guigal also produces Condrieu (Viognier) and other white wines from the Northern Rhône, along with a broad range of formations from various appellations. The wines are typically crafted to express the terroir and are often aged in oak for extended periods, reflecting the region’s tradition of long elevage.

Ownership and management have remained with the Guigal family across generations, maintaining a strong emphasis on quality and export growth. The winery has played a significant role in shaping the modern reputation of the Northern Rhône, and its wines are widely distributed worldwide.
