Gruis
Gruis is a red supergiant star located in the constellation of Grus, the Crane. It is one of the largest known stars in the Milky Way galaxy, with a radius approximately 760 times that of the Sun. This makes it one of the largest stars known, although it is not the largest in terms of volume. Gruis is also one of the most luminous stars known, with a luminosity around 370,000 times that of the Sun. Its large size and luminosity contribute to its relatively low surface temperature, estimated to be around 3,000 Kelvin. The star is also known for its variability, with its brightness fluctuating over time. Gruis is located approximately 500 light-years away from Earth. Its large size and luminosity make it a subject of interest for astronomers studying the late stages of stellar evolution.
