Graphemictomotor

Graphemictomotor is a theoretical concept that describes the neurological pathways and processes involved in translating written language into motor commands for the hand to produce writing. It is not a recognized medical term or a specific anatomical structure, but rather a functional descriptor of a complex cognitive-motor loop. This process begins with the visual perception of graphemes, the smallest units of a writing system, which are then processed in visual recognition areas of the brain. These recognized graphemes are then associated with their corresponding phonological representations and semantic meanings.

Subsequently, the graphemictomotor system is hypothesized to access the brain's lexicon, retrieving the motor programs required to execute the formation of each grapheme.
