In simpler terms, it's a region in space where the voltage is the same everywhere across that specific surface.

This concept is fundamental in electrostatics and electrodynamics. For instance, in a parallel-plate capacitor with a constant DC voltage applied, the surface of each plate can be considered a Gleichspannungsfläche. Similarly, in the vicinity of a charged conductor, equipotential surfaces exist, and if this charge distribution is static (DC), these equipotential surfaces are also Gleichspannungsflächen.
