Gerincnyomás
Gerincnyomás, often translated as spinal compression or nerve root compression, refers to a condition where pressure is applied to a spinal nerve root. This pressure can stem from various underlying issues within the spine. Common causes include herniated discs, where the soft inner material of an intervertebral disc pushes out and irritates or compresses a nerve. Bone spurs, also known as osteophytes, which are bony outgrowths that can form on the vertebrae, can also encroach upon nerve pathways. Spinal stenosis, a narrowing of the spinal canal, can lead to generalized pressure on the spinal cord and nerve roots. Degenerative disc disease, a natural part of aging, can weaken discs and make them more susceptible to compression. In some cases, tumors or infections within or near the spine can also cause gerincnyomás.
