Gardariki
Gardariki, also known as Gardarike or Gardariki Land, is a historical term referring to a vast region in Eastern Europe that was inhabited by the Norse settlers known as the Varangians. The name is derived from the Old Norse word *garðr*, meaning "enclosure" or "fortress," and *íki*, meaning "land of." The term was used by medieval Scandinavian sources to describe the lands east of the Baltic Sea, particularly those settled by Norse traders and warriors during the Viking Age.
The region of Gardariki encompassed parts of modern-day Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, and possibly parts of Sweden
By the 11th century, the influence of the Norse in Gardariki began to decline as the region
