Galvannealisierte

Galvannealisierte, also known as galvannealed, refers to a steel sheet that has undergone a process combining galvanizing and annealing. This process involves coating a steel sheet with a layer of zinc and then heating it to a specific temperature to allow the zinc to diffuse into the steel, forming a zinc-iron alloy layer. The result is a material that combines the corrosion resistance of galvanized steel with the paintability and formability of cold-rolled steel.

The process begins with the steel sheet being cleaned and then passed through a molten zinc bath, where it is coated with a layer of zinc. The sheet is then heated in a furnace to a temperature typically between 500 and 600 degrees Celsius. This heating process, known as annealing, causes the zinc to react with the iron in the steel, forming a series of zinc-iron alloy layers. The sheet is then cooled, resulting in a final product with a unique surface structure.
