GRcortisol

GRcortisol refers to the glucocorticoid receptor (GR) bound to cortisol. The glucocorticoid receptor is a nuclear receptor that is activated by glucocorticoids, a class of steroid hormones produced by the adrenal cortex. Cortisol is the primary glucocorticoid in humans and plays a crucial role in a wide range of physiological processes, including metabolism, immune response, and stress adaptation.

When cortisol is present in sufficient concentrations, it binds to the GR, causing a conformational change in the receptor. This binding event is essential for the GR to translocate from the cytoplasm to the nucleus of target cells.
