GRTS

GRTS is a geographic information system (GIS) developed in the 1990s by the United States military to support tactical operations. The system is designed to provide geospatial intelligence and situational awareness to military units in the field. GRTS uses a combination of commercial and military-off-the-shelf (MOTS) hardware and software to provide a unified spatial data management and analysis environment.

The GRTS system is capable of handling large amounts of spatial and attribute data, and provides a range of analytical and display tools to support mission planning and execution. GRTS has been used to support a variety of military operations, including peacekeeping and disaster response missions.

GRTS operates on both desktop and laptop computers, and can be used in both online and offline modes. GRTS also supports data sharing and integration with other systems, including the Personal Navigation Device (PND) system.

GRTS is often used in conjunction with other systems, such as the Tactical Situation Display (TSD), to provide a comprehensive situational awareness picture. The system has been widely adopted by the US military and has been used to support a variety of operations, both domestic and overseas.
