GDPRnõudeid

GDPRnõudeid refers to the requirements and obligations set forth by the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), a comprehensive data protection law enacted by the European Union (EU) that came into effect on May 25, 2018. The GDPR aims to strengthen and unify data protection for all individuals within the EU and applies to all companies and organizations that process the personal data of EU residents, regardless of where the organization is based.

One of the primary GDPRnõudeid is the requirement for organizations to obtain clear and explicit consent from individuals before collecting, processing, or storing their personal data. This consent must be freely given, specific, informed, and unambiguous. Organizations must also provide individuals with the right to access their personal data, the right to rectification, the right to erasure (also known as the right to be forgotten), the right to restrict processing, the right to data portability, and the right to object to processing.

Another key requirement is the appointment of a Data Protection Officer (DPO) for organizations that process large amounts of personal data or handle special categories of data. The DPO is responsible for ensuring compliance with GDPRnõudeid and serving as a point of contact for data subjects and the supervisory authority.

Organizations must also implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to ensure the security of personal data, including encryption, pseudonymization, and regular security assessments. They must notify the relevant supervisory authority of any data breaches within 72 hours of becoming aware of the breach, unless the breach is unlikely to result in a risk to the rights and freedoms of individuals.

Additionally, GDPRnõudeid include the principle of privacy by design and by default, meaning that data protection must be integrated into the design of business processes and IT systems from the outset. Organizations must also maintain records of processing activities and be prepared to demonstrate compliance with GDPRnõudeid to the supervisory authority upon request.
