Förbällda
Förbällda is a Swedish term that translates to "belted" or "cinctured" in English. It is most commonly used in a historical and heraldic context. In heraldry, a fess (a horizontal band across the shield) can be described as förbälld if it is decorated with a border or edging. This decorative element can be of a different tincture (color or metal) than the fess itself. The purpose of a förbälld fess is to add visual interest and complexity to the heraldic design.
Beyond heraldry, the term can be applied more broadly to describe anything that is encircled or girded.
