Futuroscope

Futuroscope is a French theme park located in Chasseneuil-du-Pont, near Poitiers, in the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region. Opened in 1987, it is dedicated to multimedia, cinema and digital technologies.

The park was developed by the Poitou-Charentes regional government as an innovative cultural and tourist attraction to promote science and technology; it is currently owned and operated by Compagnie des Alpes.

The park is known for its focus on cinema-based experiences, with many attractions that combine large-format film, 3D and 4D effects, and motion simulation to create immersive narratives.

The architecture and layout emphasize futuristic and high-tech design, with venues that support advanced projection systems, synchronized sound, and special effects. The experiences range from educational to entertainment.

In addition to rides, Futuroscope hosts educational programs, film collaborations and seasonal shows. It is one of the major tourist attractions in western France, drawing visitors from across France and abroad.
