The word "furata" comes from the verb "furau," meaning "to weave" or "to interweave," reflecting the intricate weaving process involved. This method is often associated with the production of luxurious fabrics such as *furai* (a type of silk with a soft, fluffy texture) and *furata-ori* (a specific weaving technique).

The technique involves a combination of plain and satin weaves, creating a dense, durable fabric with a subtle sheen.
