Frenchmens

Frenchman is a term used in English to refer to a man who is a citizen or native of France, or who identifies with French nationality or culture. The standard plural is Frenchmen; "Frenchmens" is not a standard spelling in English. The term is gendered, and modern usage often prefers gender-neutral alternatives such as French people or French citizens, especially in formal writing or when the gender of the group is mixed.

France has a long and diverse cultural history, and Frenchmen have contributed across politics, science, arts, and philosophy. French is the official language, though regional languages and religious diversity exist. In France and among the global French diaspora, Frenchmen may practice a variety of religions or secular identities.

Usage notes: The masculine form reflects grammatical gender in French contexts, but in English it designates male individuals. The term can imply essentialized notions of national identity; many people prefer "French people" when the gender of individuals is unknown or when inclusive language is desired.
