Freestylelaskettelu, often translated as freestyle skiing, is a discipline within skiing that encompasses a variety of events emphasizing acrobatic maneuvers, jumps, and creative skiing. Unlike traditional alpine skiing, which focuses on speed and turning on groomed slopes, freestyle skiing prioritizes style, technical execution, and aerial performance.

The sport has several distinct disciplines. Moguls involve skiing down a bumpy course, performing jumps and turns while maintaining speed and fluidity. Aerials is a discipline where skiers perform spectacular flips and twists off large jumps. Ski cross features multiple skiers racing head-to-head down a course with jumps, berms, and other obstacles. Slopestyle involves skiers navigating a course with a variety of jumps, rails, and other features, performing tricks on each. Halfpipe skiing takes place in a U-shaped snow structure where skiers perform aerial tricks while transitioning from one side to the other.

Freestyle skiing has gained significant popularity and is a prominent sport in the Winter Olympics.
