Frangepan

Frangepan, Hungarian Frangepán, is the Hungarian rendering of the Croatian noble house Frankopan. The Frangepán/Frankopan family was one of the most influential aristocratic lineages in the Croatian lands, with activity spanning the late medieval and early modern periods. Their origins are traced to the Croatian nobility of the 12th or 13th century, and they rose to prominence through landholdings, administration of estates, and participation in the political life of the Croatian and Hungarian crowns.
