Foreweight

Foreweight refers to the part of a projectile or object that is positioned at the front, typically containing the bulk of its mass or designed for a specific impact purpose. In the context of weaponry, the foreweight is often a key component of a bullet's design, influencing its stability, penetration, and terminal ballistics. For example, in some hunting bullets, the foreweight might be made of a softer material or shaped to expand upon impact, maximizing tissue damage. Conversely, in armor-piercing rounds, the foreweight might be constructed from a very hard, dense material to defeat hardened targets.

Beyond firearms, the concept of foreweight can be applied to other projectiles. A dart's foreweight is crucial for its aerodynamic stability and the force with which it strikes the board.
