Fordításkor

Fordításkor is a Hungarian adverbial noun formed from fordítás (translation) with the temporal suffix -kor, meaning “at the time of translation” or “during translation.” It marks the time frame within which translation-related activities take place and is used in linguistic descriptions, editorial notes, and translation studies to indicate when certain decisions or constraints apply.

In practice, fordításkor refers to considerations that pertain specifically to the translation process, such as how cultural references, terminology, register, and style are handled during rendering from one language to another. It distinguishes the phase of translation from the final edited text or published version. For example: “Fordításkor a kulturális kontextust figyelembe kell venni.” or “A fordításkor alkalmazott terminológia egységessége fontos.” It can also appear in metadata or annotations to specify the temporal context of a translation revision.
