Folikülilit

Folikülilit is a rare and severe form of folliculitis, an inflammation of the hair follicles. It is characterized by the sudden onset of numerous painful, red, and swollen lumps on the skin, typically affecting the face, neck, and upper chest. These lumps are often accompanied by fever, chills, and fatigue. Folikülilit is usually caused by a bacterial infection, most commonly Staphylococcus aureus, but it can also be due to other bacteria or fungi.

The condition is more common in children and young adults, and it is often triggered by minor skin injuries, such as shaving, sunburn, or insect bites. The diagnosis of folikülilit is typically based on the patient's history and physical examination.
