Folikülilit is a rare and severe form of folliculitis, an inflammation of the hair follicles. It is characterized by the sudden onset of numerous painful, red, and swollen lumps on the skin, typically affecting the face, neck, and upper chest. These lumps are often accompanied by fever, chills, and fatigue. Folikülilit is usually caused by a bacterial infection, most commonly Staphylococcus aureus, but it can also be due to other bacteria or fungi.
