Fokusort

Fokusort is a cross-disciplinary concept describing a designated location around which attention, resources, or analysis are concentrated. The term comes from German; Fokus means focus and Ort means place. It is used in several fields to designate a central reference point for operations, study, or design.

In photography and computer vision, Fokusort refers to the region intended to be in sharp focus. Autofocus systems attempt to locate the Fokusort in the scene, and depth-of-field calculations center processing around that area. The concept helps guide algorithms and equipment toward the portion of an image that is most critical for clarity and interpretation.

In design and human–computer interaction, Fokusort denotes the primary interaction zone on an interface. Designers use it to anchor navigation, controls, and visual priority, shaping the flow of user attention and improving task efficiency. In urban planning and geography, Fokusort is the central node or hub around which services, commerce, and transportation are organized, with planners aiming to optimize accessibility and resource distribution relative to surrounding areas.

In research methodology, Fokusort can indicate the focal location for field studies or case analyses; selection criteria often include representativeness, accessibility, and potential for insight.
