Fluoropigments

Fluoropigments are a class of organic pigments that exhibit fluorescence, meaning they absorb light at one wavelength and re-emit it at a longer wavelength. This phenomenon results in exceptionally bright and vivid colors, often appearing to glow under certain lighting conditions, particularly when exposed to ultraviolet (UV) light. They are distinct from phosphorescent materials, which continue to emit light after the excitation source is removed.

Common chemical families include diaryl and triaryl pyrazolones, coumarins, and other heterocyclic compounds.
