Flowteoriat is a cross-disciplinary term used to describe the family of theories concerned with flow—the movement, transfer, or progression of entities within a system. The term is used in various languages to refer to flow theory in psychology, physics, information science, and economic or organizational contexts. Rather than a single unified framework, flowteoriat encompasses multiple domain-specific models that share an interest in how flow arises, is sustained, and influences system performance.

In psychology, flow theory, associated with Mihály Csikszentmihalyi, examines states of complete immersion and enjoyment in an activity, where challenges match skills and feedback is immediate. In the physical sciences, flow theories describe the movement of fluids and gases, governed by conservation laws and Navier–Stokes equations; key concepts include laminar versus turbulent flow, flow rate, viscosity, Reynolds number, and boundary layers.
