Etymology and taxonomy: The name combines floquet, suggesting small flowers, with a Latin-like suffix to imply a genus. In the fictional setting, Floquetteoriaa is placed in the family Floquetaceae, within an order used by authors to organize related forms of ornamentally structured flora.

Description: Species of Floquetteoriaa are typically climbers with glossy leaves. They produce compact inflorescences called floquettes, usually 1–2 cm across, with bi- or tri-color petals and subtle fragrance to attract crepuscular pollinators.

Habitat and distribution: In the imagined world, Floquetteoriaa inhabits cloud forests on the continent of Asteria and nearby archipelagoes. Bloom timing and morphology vary with microclimate, altitude, and seasonal rainfall.
