Flaran

Flaran is a fictional city situated on the northern coast of Eldoria, serving as the regional hub for the Valen District. The name is rooted in the Arin language, where it is theorized to mean shore citadel. The city sits at the mouth of the River Nymis and faces the Bay of Lyr, with a hilly hinterland that rises behind the harbor.

Historically, Flaran developed as a trading post in the 12th century and grew through maritime commerce. It experienced periods of conflict during regional wars, followed by modernization in the 19th and 20th centuries that expanded its rail and road connections. The postwar era brought redevelopment of the harbor and the establishment of educational and cultural institutions.

Geographically, Flaran occupies a natural harbor with adjacent open beaches and a protected marina. The climate is temperate maritime, characterized by moderate winters and cool, damp summers, with rainfall distributed throughout the year.
