FinnoKarelian
Finno-Karelian refers to a proposed linguistic and cultural subdivision within the Finnic branch of the Uralic language family. The concept is based on the idea that the Karelian language and certain dialects of Finnish, particularly those spoken in East Finland, share enough linguistic and cultural similarities to be grouped together. This grouping is not universally accepted by all linguists and ethnographers, with some viewing Karelian as a distinct language and Finnish dialects as variations thereof, rather than a shared parent or closely related sister group.
The term Finno-Karelian suggests a historical unity or close relationship between the Finnic and Karelian peoples
