Finderi

Finderi is a traditional Albanian folk instrument known for its distinctive sound and cultural significance. Originating from the northern regions of Albania, particularly in areas like Shkodër and Lezhë, it is a type of bagpipe-like instrument. The name "Finderi" is derived from the Albanian word "fënd" or "fend," which means "to blow," reflecting its method of playing.

The Finderi typically consists of a cylindrical wooden body, often made from materials like boxwood or pine, with a single drone pipe and a melody pipe. The drone provides a continuous, resonant tone, while the melody pipe allows for the playing of tunes. The instrument is played by blowing air into a mouthpiece, with the fingers controlling the valves or keys that alter the pitch.
